Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity
Disorder
I personally love those with ADHD…they are exuberant, creative, fun, can hyper focus and have emotional expressiveness and energy that knows no limits. They are the world changers. They are leaders. And to some degree, I invented ADHD as an elementary kid in the 1950’s. The principal and I became good friends over my grade school experience….I vividly remember the call to my mom : “Hello Jackie..this is Florence (principal)..I have Andrew in my office again….” and the interesting thing is that I was a rock star to my fellow classmates. I received more numbers on my report card for misbehavior than grades. I failed napping in kindergarten. If you check my resume you can see what became of my life.
The book: The Gift of ADHD, by Laura Honos-Webb takes a revolutionary approach to attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder by shifting the focus from what's wrong to what can be right. It is the first book on the market to both positively reframe ADHD and provide drug-free, cognitive behavioral solutions that can help to change problem behaviors.
